A Swedish forest filled with old and rusty cars

I’ve always wanted to visit the car graveyard in Châtillon, the french part of Belgium. But as usual, I was too late, 15 years too late in fact. They cleaned it up in 2010 because it was a natural hazard (who could’ve guessed).

Lucky for me though, it turns out Sweden still has one of those car graveyards. The cars there are even from the same-ish time period.

After off-roading in the pouring rain with our camper for what felt like days we finally reached the spot. As soon as we parked, the rain stopped and the sun came out. Talk about luck.

It became immediately clear that the car graveyard was not as cool to see in real life as I thought it would be. It was actually kind of depressing. It’s just a bunch of rusting car wrecks used for parts that have been dumped in a Swedish forest. I mean, if you’re into that kind of stuff, you’ll have a blast.

I felt like we had to spend at least 15 minutes here to justify the off-road adventure we just had so I did take a few photos that turned out pretty nicely.

Would I recommend visiting the car graveyard? Meh, maybe not. You’ll definitely have more fun watching the sunset over a lake while eating a large tub of potatissallad from Rydbergs. Trust me, you won’t regret eating 800gr of the stuff.
